The
Senators Forfeit Their Finale
On September 30, 1971, the Washington Senators
played their last game in Washington (before they
moved to Texas and became the Rangers). This ticket
is from that last game, in which the Senators,
leading 7-5 with two outs in the ninth inning,
forfeited the game because 14,460 mostly rowdy
fans surged onto the playing field, tearing it
up, before the game had ended.
