Sandy
Koufax, High School Basketball Star
One of the stars of the 1952 Lafayette High School
team (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was a wiry, shifty, two-handed
shooter and passer named Sandy Koufax (back row
center). Sandy was a fine floor man and could out
jump any kid in high school play. After graduating
from Lafayette, Sandy received a basketball scholarship
at Cincinnati University. Koufax's high school coach
Frank Rabinowitz is seated center, in shirt sleeves.
